Service Charge Policy
Introduction
This policy outlines the guidelines for service charge distribution to the team. Please note that service charge is not a guaranteed perk in our operations and is not considered part of any employee benefits package. It is a discretionary bonus provided by management based on performance metrics and operational results. Management reserves the right to determine and approve service charge payments as they deem fit, and there is no obligation to distribute it in any given period.
Basis for Service Charge Determination
Service charge amounts are calculated based on the cost of sales recorded in the prior month and performance metrics from the Jabi and Utako locations. Lower costs and stronger metrics contribute positively to the potential payout. Ultimately, the team's collective efforts directly influence the bonus pay received at the end of the month. You are all responsible for the results that determine your service charge.
Criteria to Unlock Service Charge Bonuses
To fully unlock service charge bonuses, AA91 must meet or exceed thresholds across five key criteria:
-
Revenue: Total revenue generated must reach the predefined target for the period.
-
Minimum Occupancy: Occupancy rate must meet or exceed the minimum required level.
-
Average Daily Rate (ADR): The average rate per occupied room must align with or surpass the set benchmark.
-
Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR): This metric, combining occupancy and ADR, must achieve the target value.
-
Guest Stay Rating: Overall guest satisfaction scores (from NewBook surveys) must meet the minimum rating threshold.
These criteria are evaluated monthly, and partial achievement may result in reduced service charges. Full achievement of all thresholds maximises the potential payout.
Potential Service Charge Amounts
If all criteria are fully met, the maximum service charge bonuses are as follows (paid as an additional amount during the payroll period):
-
Entry-Level Staff: Up to ₦70,000.
-
Skilled Staff: Up to ₦90,000.
-
Supervisors: Up to ₦120,000.
-
Mangers: Up to ₦180,000.
Actual amounts may vary based on individual performance, departmental contributions, and overall AA91 results. Management will communicate any adjustments transparently.
